D-kan Renovation Matching Fund Campaign has been closed. Thank you for your contribution.

We invite you to join JICUF and ICU in raising funds for the renovation of Diffendorfer Memorial Hall. For over 60 years, Dkan has been a central hub for ICU students. ICU has recently completed extensive renovations so that students will be able to enjoy and utilize the building well into the future. As part of the campaign and as a sign of our abiding partnership with ICU, JICUF is pleased to offer a matching gift program. The Foundation will match every donation it receives to the Dkan renovation campaign up to $200,000.

Double your donation to D-kan!

  • All gifts to D-kan will be matched by JICUF up to $200,000.
  • Donors of any amount will be honored in a print edition of “The ICU” newsletter, among other ICU and JICUF commemorative media.
  • The names of donors who contribute 100 USD or more will be engraved on an honorable recognition plaque to be installed in D-kan.
  • Donors who contribute 1,000 USD or more will receive a special commemorative gift upcycled from the glass used in D-kan. Please refer to “Special Commemorative Gift” section on the Friend of ICU website.

Message from Masako Shinn

Dear ICU Alumni & Friends,

Since it opened its doors in 1958, D-kan has been a hub for thousands of students. I am one of those students. I fondly remember the countless hours I spent in D-kan.

Please join us in ensuring that the next generation of ICU students can also enjoy a building where they can collaborate and work together on common interests.

Thank you for your consideration.

Love D-Kan Facebook Feed

In 2018, the “Love D-Kan 60 Festival” was organized to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the construction of D-kan. The following Facebook page was published by alumni volunteers to coincide with the celebration. It has since been rebranded to “Love D-kan”, and the feed continues as a hub for D-kan related updates and memories. If you would like to share a memory of D-kan, please click this link to join the group and make a post!
