My name is Anan Ogawa, and I’m a senior student in ICU. (I can’t believe that this is the last year!) I plan to graduate in March 2015. From next April, I will start working in a trading company in Japan.

On Tuesday, May 27, 2014, the Consulate General of Japan in Los Angeles conferred the Commendation of the Consul General on Mr. Ted Tokio Tanaka and Mrs. Masako Unoura-Tanaka.

My name is Chie Hirata, and I am a sophomore student at ICU. I plan to graduate in March of 2017.

Program Director Mark Flanigan attended the annual Overseas Association for College Admissions Counseling (OACAC) Conference, which was held at the University of South Florida (USF) in Tampa Bay, FL. This was a nice chance to meet and network with new colleagues in global education. In this Blog post, Mark shares more about his experience there.

Professor Satoshi Tomioka is an ICU alumnus from the class of ’87. He is currently a Professor of Linguistics at the University of Delaware, and recently returned to ICU as a JICUF Visiting Scholar to participate in the Formal Approaches to Japanese Linguistics conference.

Program Director Tara DeWorsop recently had a chance to interview Christine Nalubowa. Christine received her BA and MA from ICU, and is a recipient of scholarship support from the Japan ICU Foundation and Rotary Yoneyama.

Global Link is a new program of the Japan ICU Foundation that matches four year ICU students with organizations in New York City for seven weeks. The goal of this program is to provide ICU students with a unique experience abroad that will help them develop skills that will be invaluable in their life and career.

David Janes, JICUF Trustee and part of the second cohort of the Mansfield Foundation’s U.S.-Japan Network for the Future Scholars, has published a new article in the new book: “Challenges Facing Japan: Perspectives from the U.S.-Japan Network for the Future.”
