JICUF Student Ambassadors
JICUF is hiring three Student Ambassadors to be based out of our newly established office on the ICU campus. Student Ambassadors will gain valuable experience working with the JICUF team. 

Overview
Student Ambassadors will be led by the Program Manager of JICUF’s office on campus. They will help to spread the word about JICUF programs and funding opportunities, curate and promote captivating content showcasing JICUF’s impact and help organize and implement events and activities on campus. In the process they will gain valuable leadership, team-building and communications skills.

Responsibilities of Student Ambassadors

  • Disseminate information at ICU about JICUF’s funding opportunities for students and faculty
  • Report on activities and events funded by JICUF
  • Interview faculty and students about their projects funded by JICUF
  • Record short videos for JICUF’s social media accounts
  • Organize and implement activities and events at ICU
  • Attend a weekly meeting at the JICUF Office on campus

Eligibility

  • Full-time degree-seeking students (undergraduate and graduate)
  • Working proficiency in English and Japanese (must be able to join meetings in English with JICUF staff)
  • Full year commitment (students planning to study abroad may not apply) 
  • Understanding of JICUF’s mission and vision
Application Process
Three students will be selected through a competitive application to serve as Student Ambassadors. During the 2024-25 Academic Year the application will open on April 1 and will close on April 19. The application includes one short essay and a short video. Successful candidates will be selected by the end of April and will begin their term on May 1.
 
Time Commitment & Remuneration
JICUF expects the time commitment to be 5-10 hours per week, but this may vary. Student Ambassadors will be paid ¥100,000 per academic term.
