JICUF International Day 2026: Connecting People Through the Cultures of 12 Countries
In October 2026, JICUF hosted International Day 2026 during the ICU festival.
International Day brings together ICU international students and faculty members to share the cultures of their home countries and regions, fostering mutual understanding through interactions with visitors. This year, booths representing 12 countries—China, Estonia, India, Japan, Lithuania, the Philippines, South Korea, Syria, Ukraine, the United States, Venezuela, and Vietnam—welcomed more than 800 visitors over two days, marking a significant increase in attendance compared to last year.
At each booth, students and faculty members introduced their countries’ traditions, cultures, and food. Visitors had the opportunity to explore different cultures while engaging in conversations with booth representatives. People of all ages joined the event, creating a lively atmosphere filled with smiles and meaningful exchanges.
In a post-event survey, students and faculty members who hosted the booths shared their positive experiences. Many expressed how rewarding it was to see visitors take an interest in their cultures, make new discoveries through conversations, and enjoy working together with their fellow booth members.

International Day offers more than an opportunity to introduce different cultures. It also provides students and faculty members with opportunities for new discoveries and meaningful connections. With some visitors returning each year, the event continues to grow as a place that brings the university and the local community together.
JICUF looks forward to continuing to create opportunities for people from diverse cultural backgrounds to meet, learn from one another, and build lasting connections. We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who attended and to the students and faculty members who helped make this event a success.
