In fall 2018, fourth-year student at ICU Kazuna Yamamoto (CLA ‘19) received ¥510,000 through the JICUF Grants Initiative for her project, “Educate For ICU Ambassador Program.” This past March, Kazuna brought 4 ICU students and 2 non-ICU students to organize, conduct, and facilitate educational STEM and English workshops in 3 schools in Trujillo, Peru.

Next month, ICU Professor Emeritus and former JICUF Trustee Ben Duke’s new book “Dr. David Murray: Superintendent of Education in the Empire of Japan 1873-1879” will be published by Rutgers University Press. In this article, Dr. Duke explains some of the history and inspiration for the book.
Ms. Tomoko Ishibashi graduated from ICU in June 1991. She currently lives in Toronto, Canada, and joined the second ICU reunion in Toronto in November. She shared her “ICU story” with us.
